After our operation in Kursk Oblast, the Russians “drew conclusions”: they reinforced all borders to prevent another breakthrough elsewhere. In Belgorod Oblast, they spent over 10 billion rubles on “modern and reliable fortifications”…
What’s with the face, Russians?
10 billion rubles? It’s a wall of dirt and some anti-tank blocks
It’s a hundred million euros. That not THAT much money for numerous kilometers of obstacles and earthworks.
Their mileage varried as getting people to get something done costs way less then when you’d want that thing done here.
pottery material is expensive.
I don’t think these are ever ultimately difficult to cross if undefended. The point is to stop them long enough to push them back so they can’t undo it.
The point is its over an extended length so they can’t just immediate cross somewhere, you get time to stop them.
I bet now that Russia failed to defend this spot, they’ll have to try and close it, which will divert resources and let Ukraine try and open another spot as well.
The gif also shows that there was/ is a mine field and moat before the wall of dirt fwiw. We’re looking at it after it has had a path cleared
