This has been in my wallpaper & random image collection for a while. Unfortunately I forgot the name but I remember that they are tiny in real size, just a millimeter or so. Maybe somebody recognizes them?

It’s regional. You’d likely get some funny looks if you said “Wohlsein” anywhere in the north or north-west of Germany.

No they are neither fungi, plant or animal. They are single celled organisms so more closely related to amoeba or some algae.

When I was a kid we would go hiking in a creek bed that ran inbetween all the houses. One day I came upon some little bulbous mushrooms like this that were growing out of a huge downed tree. When you poked one super gently with a stick, it would explode a cloud of green spores out of it. Weirdest shit I ever found, and I never saw them again. I would have sworn it was like the flood from halo or something

It actually exists as a multi nucleated single cell, then divides when it’s time for reproduction. It actually shows signs of intelligence and is at least partially responsible for the rail system in Tokyo.
