So my username on reddit was u/IAmUser1234567 I had 17k+ Karma, i didn’t do anything they just banned my account. Now i guess they have created a digital fingerprint or marked my ip address, because if i create a new account it gets banned almost instantly.

I am loving lemmy(using Voyager on my android phone) so much. Reddit anyways now just contains shity cringe content, it is becoming like insta, I am happy to join lemmy family :)

I kept advocating the guillotine for politicians who betray their people and/or rape kids. Apparently that’s me being evil.

Yep happened to me too I had a good 60k+ Karma on a 5 year old account.

Say that Nazis should be fought back against and that Child predators should be locked away for life and Reddit decided I was a dangerous individual and banned me.

its AI moderated, so they use othr things like browser fingerprinting, “bot-like behaviour, if you are just scrolling ad not engaging or posting, or posting too often”, also other things like recognizing your device and thier components time zone, version of your browser. also its overly sensitive. they also look back if your ip/device created any old accounts even if they are dormant for many years. since REDDIT went public they dont want too many people using the site, as much as just scrolling it.

Also to add musk has significant impact on when purges happen, because SPEz loves him.

Reddit.com is publicly traded, which means its owned by the rich. Reddit is mined to make better chatGPT. The plutocrats don’t want AI trained in anyway to discuss anything that could remoty suggest, even tangentally, chopping off the richs’ heads.

That’s a fantastic insight, if true. They’re banning users to curate the information they want to train their models on.

Right now the USA would need revolutionary rhetoric, talk about political and physical violence to restore democracy and the constitution. And that’s what they can’t have. They rather side with the fascists than allowing any kind of revolution.

At least not in the USA. Supporting regime change and coups and political killings overseas is perfectly fine.

i didn’t do anything they just banned my account

Yeah, with AI bots now doing sitewide moderation, if you said anything even remotely about killing or wishing a death wish to a prominent fucking Nazi, they permaban you and the browser you use (so killing your alt accounts, too).

So, hence, a “fuck you” to spez.

So… you talked about killing somebody or wishing someone’s death? That’s not nothing.

But yeah, I get you. I also get banned from Reddit quite easily from some low-energy borderline hateful comment postings.

I got banned for making an account just to post in the World Cup threads but the sub wouldn’t let me post because my account needed to be older and have a certain amount of karma

This “you can’t post message” came with a note saying I could message a mod and then a link to click to do just that, so I did

I explained I wasn’t a bot, I was a human, I’d prove it however they wanted, but I couldn’t really wait days to post because the World Cup is happening now and in 3 or 4 days I’d miss like 12 games

They responded saying that I had zero karma and had not made any posts…

So I replied that yeah, this is exactly true because I don’t like reddit I only signed up to post in the World Cup Match threads

I received a very nasty reply where they told me that reddit was super popular with millions of users and that it wasn’t their problem I didn’t like reddit and then my account got banned

I believe the World Cup is super popular and so it’s not just a random sub ran by random people in the world… but a sub made by reddit and moderated by reddit employees. So I just told a reddit employee I hate their site and so they banned me

    It’s a pretty shit site

did that come from the MOds? sounds like them. alot of mods are pretty content even if reddit filters are banning people , for no apparent reason, because the mod themselves are too lazy to verify actual reports.

    Welcome to Lemmy!

I was also banned from Reddit like that. Give it a couple months or so and then you can create a new account. I mod my local subreddit but otherwise don’t do much on Reddit anymore.

unfortunately alot of people get shadowban, this is more pervasive as it locks out potential new accounts on your IP/device/fingerprinting. if its just a regular ban, its possible.

Reddit is just too botted out to be a reasonable place for a conversation anymore.

There’s two back and forths before someone gets angry and everyone has a personal anecdote that contradicts any point anyone makes.

funny reddi thinks thier bans are stopping bots, but the people who owns the bots, have ways around it. propaganda farms dont care if they get banned they will just keep switching around using different IP and making more bots, while single users with alot of accounts have to use something more sophisticated to get around it. reddit is like 50-60% bots, and many subs are just AI generated posts
