    I’m kind of amazed they have troops for their little international excursions to Africa.

      AfaIk, the mercenaries are sent there for making money, i.e. the russian federation is payed for their presence by the Mali government, that’s why they were also targeted by Ukrainian special forces.

        Russia’s getting bombed pretty regularly deep in its heartland these days, and there’s no gasoline anywhere. It’s a bit more than just the fringes now.

    A military convoy carrying over 200 fighters from the Russian paramilitary Africa Corps and more than 100 Malian soldiers came under attack in northern Mali on July 9.

    Reusing the name is an interesting choice.
