Since the launch of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the information space around the war has been obsessed with this deceptively simple question, and the constant new iterations of answers to it.

If you post the roughly the same photo as earlier of the passport cover but from a few different angles or smth, it would be far more believable. Usually when I post photos like that, I take the photo in front of a screen I have the thread open on. No questions then, really.
I’m sure if you’d bought or sold illegal drugs through messengers as much as me, you’d understand my level of suspicion is fairly normal, not some weird paranoia.
Lemmy is full of Russians pretending to be from other countries to pump in doubt and whatnot. Because good propaganda isn’t just lies told straight to your face, lol.

Lemmy is full of (mental) children pretending to be commies and supporting m*scovia and china, m*scovites themselves are pretty rare in my experience (or blocked by piefed instance dunno).

Lemmy does have actual Russians pretending to be American for one. Davel is one of those. How do you feel about me calling him a lying, scared Russian? Or do you believe that he’s not a Russian pretending to be American.
He’s always going on about how there’s definitely not Russians here, or definitely not organised at least or not doing any actual propaganda. “Why would they be interested in Lemmy, or the fediverse?” because of its openness and lack of regulation, same as us, duh.
