!peertube@lemmy.world reached 2k subs!! Its exciting. I try to schedule a post a day-ish. Even if they bomb, people are still interacting, which means they care about the videos.

Im still keeping up https://piefed.social/f/fediversevideos as well. Im seeing creators do more videos as time goes on and sub numbers go up. People are commenting on videos in the peertube space and then going to piefed to comment more :)

Hey are y’all aware of !smorgasbordbizarre@lemmy.world ? It’s a community of odd and interesting posts that made the move here from reddit a couple months ago. It’s run by @bilsabab@lemmy.world – fam if you see this, check out this community, it’s basically for/by people who maintain/grow communities, giving each other advice etc. Bilsabab also runs !classicfilms@lemmy.world which is very interesting too. edit: also !longformindepth@lemmy.world

For my part, !gothindustrial@lemmy.world is chugging along… I’m coming to the end of a 13-set of comics that I’ve been posting weekly … I started out posting the originals, then I got the creator’s permission to make “social media friendly” versions (i.e. that looked better on phones) and started editing them in gimp… it was kind of a fun thing to do while watching movies. I also did another 12 comic strip edits from that creator’s other series, which I’ll be posting weekly next. After that, we’ll see.

I had a setback yesterday in that a community I’d tried to get active again (“out of context comics”) had a lot of rule-breaking posts the past week or two, culminating with an especially annoying one yesterday. I’d tried to publicly raise the issue via a concerned post, but there are no active mods there, and little seeming concern for the rules. And I’m not interested in modding a 3rd community at this time, either.

So I gave up, and unsubscribed. Not my finest moment, and maybe I’ll revisit at some point, but I guess part of the issue is that it’s not necessarily enough for a /c to have an active userbase, but needs an active mod or two, as well.
