Yeah, it’s around a fifth of the population. There must be something seriously wrong there. Like something not found anywhere else but widespread in those countries.

So what the hell is going on in India and China? 26 % and 18% are huge numbers compared to the usual 1% in the rest of the world.
I’m neither and I’m having fun here. Lots of science, Star Trek, cute animals, shitposts, thoughtful commentaries, books and movies… And things are getting better. It’s already so much better than when I first came.
The problem is we know Russia won’t stop. This is not the first time they attack their neibor. Ukraine and other countries have lost territory to Russia in the past. And we know the official Russian plan is to get the Soviet empire back, incuding the “sphere of influence” So it’s not just about Ukraine, it’s about a large part of Europe and about showing a bully they cannot continue with getting new land by force. They must be stopped. I just wish European countries intervened directly, that could save many lives and end the war for real. I don’t believe the Russian nuclear threats.
We know they would treat Ukrainians terribly because we know what happened in the regions captured by them.
This is true about the US, but not about the free world or democracy in general. The US is (or was) not the only free world country.
I think they mainly have the one information we all have - that the US has turned on them.
That’s unfortunately exactly the case. Europeans forgot. Pro-Putin populists and nazis are on the rise in many European countries.
I don’t think they’re cringing, this is perfectly correct.
What’s going on on the pole?
I’m pretty sure the latter was the middle-length answer. You can do better!
Now I wonder whether some of the different species that share the same route ever migrate together.
Well, not all, just those that are directly related.
That still seems like the end of NATO to me. No need to leave, just make it disfunctional.
To be fair, the fear of repeating the terrible wars that started in Europe was strong even after European countries recovered. I suppose it didn’t look like the greatest idea to let Germany or anyone really to have a super strong army.
What? I still don’t understand. Would you mind genuinely eli5 to me what from my post makes you think I talk about women as if they don’t have any agency? I’m asking genuinely for patient explanation.
And that was my whole point, I was reacting to V0ldek’s: “being inseminated by…is the least consequential thing”, which they proposed was not important from the child’s point of view. I wanted to point out it’s rather different (in a bad way) from the woman’s point of view.
Is that a bad thing? Where did I go wrong in expressing myself? Or did I misunderstand V0ldek’s comment?
I think for many women “being inseminated by” IS a big thing.
I think it’s understandable. Intelligence is partly hereditary and people want clever children. Education and job can give you at least an overall idea of the person you’re having a child with. It’s kind of weird anyway to have a child with someone random, isn’t it?
Loves this fact. Fify
