There has also been an influx of users on Piefed which might explain why things seem more active on here.

Though the fediverse in general is growing it looks like Lemmy is losing users since last year. I guess thats because a percentage of Reddit refugees that came here after the API debacle eventually just went back to Reddit. A similar story is probably true for Mastodon. After Musk bought Twitter/X there was an influx of users but not everyone stayed. But because this data is only a year old is difficult to see how many of these users stayed for good. Give what people on here have said though it sounds like it was a fair amount.

Matrix is better than IRC for most uses because it can save chat history but IRC can’t

Try piefed, one of its main draws is that it has more tools to deal with spam

Very nice

That sounds really cool actually. Does it require special licensing like ham radio does?

What’s meshtastic?

Okay thanks for the heads up

Thank you!

It does sound interesting. Where do I start?

Hi there. Can you talk to the astronauts for us lol?

Do we have amateur radio guys on the fediverse?
Well yeah, and Ghislaine Maxwell was also a Reddit power mod (mod or r/news and apparently some other big subreddits too).
