You think that’s bad? Check out this new article I just found on lemmy:
Memory decline starts earlier than you think, new research suggests
i was just reading about this a second ago but can’t find it!
where am I?
And how did you get into my house?
You know that’s funny, I vaguely remember seeing an article on memory on fedia: Aging shifts hippocampal reactivation from selective reinstatement to category-level misbinding during episodic memory https://academic.oup.com/cercor/article/36/7/bhag114/8758582
Man I think I remember hearing something about this at some point…
(Conspirational voice) Do it is even worse than we thought?
Good read. I’ve had memory problems since I was 10. But it was usually things I didn’t care about. I remembered what was important and that’s what got me to where I am now. I heard that eating walnuts is good for brain health and memory. Not sure how true this is.
Sounds like pseudoscientific horseshit relating to how walnuts kinda look like little brains.
That being said, nuts are a healthy snack.
I looked it up, walnuts have omega-3s which are good for memory.
Neat.
Mediterranean diets are good for health all around, including in the brain.
A big part of a intermediate diet is tree nuts. What else, fish, olive oil, salad, idk all sorts of good shit they’ve way more food plants down there than the north.
Making salmon & spinach for dinner
Gotta watch out on the spinach, it’s one of the most heavily pesticided crops.
Guess I’ll die
I use alternatives, ones that grow in the wild. It’s free too. Stinging nettle being choice.
I’m happy for you that you’ve got the time for that.
Damnit.
Outside of an era where long covid is rampant?
I noticed decline right around 30. Nothing terrible but the idea of working in a kitchen as I did in the past and using my short term memory in the way I did doesn’t seem possible anymore.
