“I’d like to reiterate how difficult it is to have granola infected with salmonella. It’s even more difficult than chili peppers, and no, it’s not ‘foreign producers’ that are the problem,” Chef Joe Gera wrote on X. “It’s quality control and standards not being enforced.”

They literally don’t care about us. These giant corporations and rich assholes have almost all of the money and power, but it’s never enough. They’ll relax regulations and standards to increase profits and if people die, oh well!

And funny enough because every supplier has now lowered their standards, it means every manufacturer has to spend more doing checks to see if raw materials are actually up to quality required.

We are the only developed country that has allowed salmonella in our chicken supply, after pressure from the industry. Propublica did a piece on it some years back.

you know I heard we were heading towards a food safety crisis and at the time I kinda thought it was a bit fear mongery.

    now? not so much.

The bigger danger is chemical contamination in the food supply, and it’s harms will rarely if ever be recognized for their sources. Not unless we make them be recognized. Not an easy task with influence operations and social media being completely sold out.

Ok, so how are these items contaminated? I’ve never heard of this outside of the US.
