Reached level 22 in Splatoon Raiders.

I think that some of the people I am helping are bots. Or at least these “help someone” aren’t actually live helps. For instance, when you go to help someone, there is only bot buddy, but they should have their bot buddies too. It’s possible one bot buddy is shared by all players though. Another thing is all their names are Water / Splatoon related, like “Sea Horse”, “Coral” thing like that, but again it could be just Nintendo anonimysing the names.

Anyways, the game is still fun. My kid who spends most of his gaming time playing Fortnite with friends started playing it and loved it so much he overtook my level in just a few days. We only have one Switch 2 or it could’ve been a fun game to play together.

Also playing Red Dead Redemption 2. Reaching end of the Chapter 5. Last week I said I was reaching 50% of story progression, but I checked after that and it was only 44%. I am somewhere around 55% now. I usually don’t keep track of progession like that, but this game is so long, and it hasn’t really caught my interest that much.

I paused Star Ocean: First Departure R and started Final Fantasy XII - The Zodiac Age. FF 12 was the first Final Fantasy I played and I consider it my favourite one. I have only played it once though, and that was the original version, not the Zodiac Age, so when it officially came to west I planned to play it but just getting around to it now.

I love the gambit system, and the fact that there are no random encounters. Not a fan of the fact that reserve party members don’t get any experience, but game is easy enough that I have made two teams of 3. Keep swapping between them and keep them at similar levels. I have been staying up late over the week playing this which has messed up my sleep schedule a bit, so probably will have to reduce that going forward.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

Finished Opus: Echo of Starsong !

Fantastic atmosphere and worldbuilding, strong start and a decent ending, but gets held back by its weak and repetitive middle and very limited exploration/resource management gameplay.

    Playing Octopath Traveler II!

When I played the first Octopath game I was really enjoying the general gameplay, but gave up midway because it was just too goddamn grindy.

After a lot of research I decided to give the second game a shot, and so far it’s much better. Very similar in structure and gameplay to the first game, but the non-boss battles are easier and quicker, money isn’t as much of an issue, and the cast is more enjoyable.

Hoping it stays this way till the end. I’ve recruited 5/8 charaters and I’m now working on getting the full party before proceeeding.

Playing Super Robot Wars Y Anniversary Expansion Pack!

Yay, one final DLC pack for this one. English trailer is here, looks like this time we’re getting “Witch from Mercury” Season 2 units and what appears to be an alternate version of Chapter 7.

They also brought back Crow and the Librasta, one of my favorite protagonists in the series! It’s obviously to draw hype for the SRWZ2 remake they just announced, but I’m happy to see him again.

My problem with OT1 was that it felt too repetitive. And it felt like 8 solo adventures, instead of a single campaign. Not sure if it’s worth trying OT2 or should just go for OT0.

And it felt like 8 solo adventures, instead of a single campaign.

The main stories are still like this, though now we have additional stories called “Crossed Paths” focused on pairs of characters to give them more interaction. I also heard the final chapter has the stories coming together decently, but I’m still very far from that so I’ll comment when I’m done with the game.

Not sure if that’s enough to get you interested but it’s a nice improvement.

I’m near the end of chapter 10 in Yoshi’s Mysterious Collection of Fanfics, which seems to be the end of post game, but there is room for two more in the menu and I fully expect more. Fool me once, shame on you and so on.

Played a little more Star Fox, did my first run on Expert Mode. I’m surprised the medal requirements aren’t higher to make up for the fact that there are more enemies. That’s going to make that part very easy, except I do not look forward to keeping a Hyper Laser past Sector 6 for Venom 2.

I also don’t think I’ll complete the list of multiplayer unlocks. I’ve never had a game with more than two other humans in it and it’s getting boring, since the team with two humans always beats the team with one.

Made a lot of progress in One Piece: World Seeker. I’m actually impressed that the characters present in the game were carefully curated to only be characters that could reasonably be here. This kind of game will usually come up with any excuse to cram as many familiar faces into the story as possible.

It’s still not a particularly good game though. And my current setup lets me defeat any boss in a three-hit combo, so there goes the balancing. I recently unlocked Gear Fourth and it actually makes me weaker, lol.

I finished Katamari Damacy Reroll, leaving only the final achievement locked. Judging by its name, I thought it was the “get every other achievement” achievement, but I was wrong. You have to pick up every item in the world and I will NOT do that. And with this fever dream behind us, it is time…

…for Jimothy to wake up and continue his Fallout 3 journey. But I think the drugs he took hit a little harder than expected. He rolled up the world in a ball, became a short-spined racoon and now he’s been kidnapped by aliens? Maybe I’ll have this sorted out by next week.

I recently got a Capture Card and if my tests are successful, I’ll be doing something very stupid soon.

Heh, I don’t think they will go for 12 in main game. 10 is a nice round number, and they stopped in middle of page just so people don’t expect another page, but clear that and let us know!

That’s the problem with multiplayer modes, you need enough people that there are always healthy amount of lobbies around, and I am not sure Switch 2 is at that point, specially for a game like this.

      Heh, poor Jimothy.

Looking forward to that stupid thing you’ll be doing soon.

Im playing Fallout New Vegas (for the million time) most of the weekend. I bought the PC version with all the DLC since it was $5 on steam. (I had the PS3 version with Honest Hearts and Dead Money DLC) so it will be nice to try Lonesome Road and Big MT.

I’m also playing around with the GECK and tinkering with armor. I madea lot of skimpy outfits with god DT and DP lol. I’m honestly shocked on how well FO:NV and GECK is running on Linux under proton. It only crashed once due to me massacuring everyone in White Glove and noclipping.

I do need to livestream tonight, which I’ve been playing the original Monster Hunter PS2. That game is so hard compared to the rest of the series.

If I get time, I might play Monster Hunter Rise, but doubt it as FO:NV has me additcted (again lol)

I played New Vegas on PS3 too, but I think it had some save related issue, the more you played the bigger your save got until you weren’t able to save or something, don’t remember exactly.

There are rumours of a remake now. Would be interesting if it’s a proper remake and not a remaster like Oblivion.

Someone shared ( in /c/Games I think) about PS2 Monster Hunter a few days back and it was obvious how difficuld it would be. The series has come a long way in improving quality of life.

Halfway through replaying Xenoblade Chronicles 2 with the Switch 2 Edition.
I’m mostly happy with the upgrade, but the Merc Missions are a bit disappointing and I wish they did something to improve the gacha mechanics. The resolution upgrade tho is very noticeable, even when comparing against the old boosted mode, and the new costumes are pretty, so it’s overall a good upgrade.

I rarely touch my switch these days since games are mostly outside what I’m willing to pay. I did pick up Splatoon Raiders though which I’m playing now. The gameplay loop is pretty fun and perfect for my short play times!

It’s nice to see Splatoon Raiders getting such love.

Yeah, games are getting expensive, and Nintendo is notorious for not giving big sales on their first party games. Even patient gamers have to pay near full price. They do have different prices for different games, and that helps a bit though.
