I think these events are also important to celebrate skills born in warfare and used to very personally kill enemies as more than just a necessary tool of violence but as a sport, a means of expression and as a joyful group event.
For people who spent years becoming incredibly good at flying drones for war this is a beacon in the sky that there is a whole world of potential for their skills in peacetime too.
