zahlo, Accept payments for 1% + €0.25 per transaction with built-in customer cashback. In-store QR payments + online checkout. SEPA Instant settlement, automatic loyalty program. No card terminal needed.
Oh cool, new payment method.

From my perspective it’s very difficult to convince a significant number of consumers and sellers. To still make that a reality, you need an immense marketing budget or at the very least a very innovative feature. Otherwise you’re highly prone to fail. My hopes are on Wero or even simpler just to use bank transfer.
The whole idea of scanning random QR codes at merchants with their banking app will rightfully scare off a lot of people.
QR codes will be the biggest vector for fraud and abuse very soon.
There was already a huge issue with fake QR codes on parking meters in Switzerland.
It was so bad, Zurich started removing QR codes on parking meters as a method of payment again last year and is now warning people against scanning QR codes in public.
Meanwhile China for a good while went full QR payment with WeChat.
