Seems like most would use lumber as-is, not spend the effort to make it dimensional.
Seems like this would be more southwest with the brick - making brick is a time and fuel- consuming process.
How common was this design in the 1800’s on the prairie as shown here? Everything I’ve read shows much simpler design for prairie homes, with things like brick in cities.
