I was so disappointed in my local food store. A wall of shelves filled with Royal De Ruijter in all colours and flavours you can imagine. No other options available… So I walked a couple of extra meters to a store more outside the city and I found this:
- Flakes from De Rit manufactured in Germany according to the package
- Granola bars from Made Good manufactured in The Netherlands
Very happy with this discovery !

For chocolate chips or flakes, I personnally buy fair-trade organic chocolate and make them myself
Should be cheaper by the kilo.
(Possibly doable with granola bars as well, but it’s extra work and probably not cheaper)
How do you do that?
I either break the chocolate for or grate it
Found this recipe ( they use cacao powder ) https://www.zelfmaakrecepten.nl/hagelslag-en-vruchtenhagel/
Good idea! I’m going to look into this.
