The images from Davos tell a disturbing story: Bulgaria's outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, representing a government that has been in resignation since December following massive protests, signing away our country's European credibility. Standing alongside Viktor Orban and representatives of authoritarian regimes, Zhelyazkov committed Bulgaria to Donald Trump's so-called Peace Council while the rest of Europe looked on in dismay.

If Bulgaria would enter the board, it would be the second EU nation after the outcast Hungary.

However, the Bulgarian “representative” in Davos was a disgraced ex-prime minister who had exposed himself as a puppet. He had no authority whatsoever, no authorisation, no mandate, nothing. All he did was to ensure that the election campaign will unite left and right against Trump.

Under the circumstances of a government in resignation, Bulgaria’s president refused to participate in Trump’s show in Davos.
