What arey you talking about? Do you still belive in free launches? There is an opportunity cost to everything. My paid plan includ a resource-havy, going-nowhere technology that nobody was asking for, while the same resources could be spent on things that people ask for - like better gallery or better Linux support.
I don’t want my postmen to clean my windows even if he do it for free (for now). I just wonder who paid for his cleaning supplies while he’s mailbag is full of holes.
Lumo is standalone, freemium, no account or existing subscription required. It’s funded by premium users, not by your plan, nor is it part of it. Proton hasn’t increased the cost of their base services since 2023 and did so only once since their launch, Lumo launched mid-2025. Lumo’s open-source, no-logs and anonymous no account required free service is privacy-first AI done right…
Always good to check your facts before applying your bias…

How was working on it founded before the first paying Lumo user?
(Edit: Also, behold the first profitable AI project in existence apparently)
