She added that nowadays it is becoming increasingly difficult for a country like Moldova to survive and exist as a democracy and a sovereign state.

"As President of the Republic of Moldova, I understand that there is no majority in favor of unification with Romania, but there is a majority that supports accession to the EU, and we are acting in that direction. This is a much more realistic goal and helps us protect our sovereignty,” Sandu explained.

    If Ukraine actually got taken in 3 days, Moldova would have been russian the week after. This is probably a good choice.

      Joining the EU is a good choice. Ceding soveregnity to any other country, probably less so
