Finished chapter 6 of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition!

Also got a skell! Going to see if I can buy more skells right now or just buy some weapons for it.

I have one big complaint though, about the map and enemy placements in this game. For instance, a quest with recommended level 20, has level 30 or above enemies in the main path, and it isn’t easy to go around them.

Similarly, there was a level 5 quest in the start, where you had to get communication device of someone, and it was right beside level 35 monsters, and I couldn’t get to it without entering combat with them.

It’s one thing when it’s a normal quest, like the level 5 one, but that level 20 one was an affinity quest, which means I can’t progress without doing it either, and there is apparently no way to abandon it once accepted.

Maybe I am just not doing something right.

Played a bit of The Surge too. Couldn’t get very far in the third area, the Biolabs something. So, looked up some info and apparently I was using the weapons wrong. I was ignoring the damage type of the weapons since the game never mentioned anything about them anywhere, but apparently my weapon is pretty much useless against armour, switched to another weapon (also learned you can select multiple weapons and switch between them with one button!) which had damage for armour, and even though it’s overall power was much less, I was killing enemies so much faster! Only issue is that this weapon is staff, where I am more comfortable with one-handed weapons, and can’t find a good one-handed one that deals damage to armour.

Still, haven’t gotten much further because of annoying Robo dogs, died to them a few times. Will try again.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

Yeah, you need to be level 30 for buying skells, fortunately I am level 29 so shouldn’t be too long.

About high level enemies, I agree other Xenoblade games had them everywhere too, but it I don’t think they were right in middle of where you had to go. For instance take that Bezos affinity mission. It’s level 20, but the whole place is filled with level 48 monsters. Even with skell I had to run away 3 times before I could go in.

Fortunately, running away is very easy (at least for now) with skell, so not too worried about it anymore.

Thanks for the tip about separate save. Have started doing that now.

BTW those “get stuff from FrontNav mining” are pretty annoying. Went to start Chapter 7, but it requires me to do the “Close Encounter” mission, and that requires you to get something from FrontNav, and I hadn’t placed that particular FrontNav yet, so now I have to wait for a while, when I don’t have any other level appropriate mission that I can do.

Good thing it’s not my first Xenoblade, I can ignore most of the stuff telling myself that it’s a decade old game, and the latest games in the series are way more streamlined.

Edit: LMAO, the Ares 90 is ridiculous. I just got it, added three Weapon Attack XX mods on the Agashura Cannon, and did a quick test… here’s what happened.

lol, when do I get that Skell?

Very late! Unlocks after Chapter 12 and requires Level 60.

After that it can be crafted using the AM Console if you have the appropriate materials, which are surprisingly easy to get if you farm tickets using the online mode.
