Why? It’s too much bandwidth, too much upkeep, I already modded/ran communities larger than lemmy; I DON’T want to do it again, especially if I’m paying out of pocket for it. Having to deal with whiny cry-bitches when you DON’T ban something that they don’t like it almost as bad as having the stuff banned in the first place.
Nah fuck that. Mods are power hungry fat morons who exert the editorial discretion of a wet noodle. Almost every community in the fediverse is full of this crap. Things aren’t removed because they’re harmful, they’re removed because some mod disagrees.
There’s also the problem with every instance admin having access to deeper internals; I’m waiting for the day people start getting banned for upvoting the wrong thing.
I found that a total of like 5 people post basically all of the lemmynsfw stuff. Once I blocked them, it almost all went away. Pretty sure the internet is nothing but bots now.
Also, if you’re on the internet expecting all sunshine and rainbows – leave now. The internet is not a place for that. Everything now is rage-bait designed to get more clicks, and the internet has always been the wild west with major hostilities all the time. It’s not a good place to spend your time if you’re looking to relax.

It was already known that “users with access to GenAI tools produce a less diverse set of outcomes for the same task.”
Why is this portrayed as a bad thing? Correct answers are correct answers. The only thing LLMs typically are bad at, are things that are seldom discussed or have some ambiguity behind them. So long as users understand the limitations of AI and understand when and where to trust them - then why is their diversity in output a bad thing?
Regularly we seek uniformity in output in order to better handle its output in tasks further down. I don’t see this as a bad thing at all.
Yeah, I had no idea what an “FPSZ” is. But…with that description, I figured it would have been more like Warframe not just “faster movement counter-strike”. You’re still kind of…stuck to the ground on these genre of games.
I think with Nintendo’s attack on emulators and stuff, I’m going to finally crack my OG switch (the unpatchable one) and rip all of my games and buy a Steamdeck, honestly. I heard emulation there is great, and I’ve already backed up all of the emulators since before they were taken down.
If the Switch 2 is backwards compatible and can play the OG switch games; then we know exactly WHY they started the crackdown - because likely the same methods as before will work just fine against the Switch 2 as well.
I won’t pirate the games, but I don’t think I’m gonna worry about my old switch being banned from their online network any longer either. Especially after they shut down the old DS network.

Most of the sites today were survivors of the era of easy venture capital, and they weren’t any different than the other dotcoms. The whole point was the widespread adoption of the internet, thus…dotcom; because they all started up .com web addresses.
Google, Amazon, Ndivia, Ebay still dotcoms. Just survivors.
We still have remnants of their behavior too - with things like Uber and Lyft.
Problem it wasn’t a hallucination - it was referencing a paper that has been debunked. These aren’t made up numbers, they’re VERY specific numbers that come from a VERY specific paper.
