I think tunic is better than any 2D or 3D Zelda.
I think tunic is better than any 2D or 3D Zelda.
I don’t even know why it really needs an explanation. They basically tell you from the start it’s an endless loop of good vs evil.
Every game is it’s own thing/story so there isn’t any baggage and you get to start all over again saving the world.
“But how does it fit into the timeline!?!?!?”
I can’t believe people went so crazy about the timeline shenanigans that nintendo just caved and was like “sure, yeah… Why not.”
That’s fair, I do think there are easier and harder games to hype though.
You’re right that for the GameCube, that’s puts it as the 25th best selling game, but it had 1/5th the sales of Double Dash (while being released in the opposite ordering, Kirby in July and Double Dash in November).
While I agree that Sakurai directing it is a big deal for some, I don’t think the general consumer cares. I suspect that what will make it sell is that there is little competition from the switch 2 perspective.
But time will tell in this case.
Probably cause I’m a bit biased, but also because it’s not really what I would consider a system mover. The original apparently only sold 1.3 million units - https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Kirby.
Also, we’re already getting Mario kart world, so two racers on release just seems odd.
Yeah, but it also had the following by the first holiday season:
So the switch got a new Zelda and Mario game for the first year, plus a Mario kart. Switch 2 is just getting a new Donkey Kong and Mario Kart (and I guess Metroid Prime 4 although that’s cross platform). And no I don’t count Kirby Air riders as a big game.
That’s fair, given how they’re treating backwards compatibility, it almost feels like they released a switch pro.
However, with a steamdeck I’ve already got a bigger screen with a much larger backlog. That might be a part of my hesitance on the switch 2, almost all of the games coming out are already playable on a mobile system.
Honestly it’s somehow a worse launch than the switch. While the switch basically only had WiiU games at least most people hadn’t played them (I mean BOTW will always be a switch game even if it was also released on the WiiU).
But all we really have for the foreseeable future is Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong. That’s not a lot for the initial release year.
Just doesn’t seem worth the money.
Yeah, the more data you have around the database the better, but that’s always been the issue with data governance - you need to stay on top of that or things start to degrade quickly.
When the governance is good, the LLM may be able to keep up, but will you know when things start to slip?
I’ve done some work on natural language to SQL, both with older (like Bert) and current LLMs. It can do alright if there is a good schema and reasonable column names, but otherwise it can break down pretty quickly.
Thats before you get into the fact that SQL dialects are a really big issue for LLMs to begin with. They all looks so similar I’ve found it common for them to switch between them without warning.
If you install windows it can, but natively it can’t as those games don’t support Linux. However, you loose a lot of the value of the steamdeck (SteamOS) by installing windows.
Also windows sucks on a handheld. I dual booted for a while, but it’s just not really worth it.
If you liked BOTW, it’s basically that plus a little extra. If you were a little done with BOTW by the end, then it’s a bit of a slog.
Personally, the build ability makes most of the puzzles too repetitive. Additionally it feels like most of the game is collecting resources so you can then do fun things (I was even using duplication cheats and it felt like a chore).
I thought Arms was a blast! Like Mario kart or super smash I did a good job of walking the “competitive, but fun” line.
Otherwise I agree, only Splatoon2 was really unique to the switch. Everything else was released on the WiiU.
This is such a mess. Not only are they chargin more than anyone expected, but the upgrades have different tiers.
Can’t wait to see how tariffs impact this too.
I was actually looking at a chart earlier today, and it’s crazy. They had declining sales going from NES->SNES->N64->GameCube.
The first time a home console beat the sales of the NES was the Wii, when they stopped chasing performance of the systems.
Not the same chart, but to provide proof - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_game_consoles
Yeah, everyone giving it kudos doesn’t realize its actually even more restrictive than the previous setup.
Before you could:
Admittedly you could only share games one way with that, so it really only worked for two people. So families with more than two switched are about the only ones this would benefit (maybe a group of friends in close proximity).
Yeah kinda feels like that guy may have failed history class. Nothing like rolling over for the aggressor.
Have you used the switch eshop? It takes seconds for some things to load on that.
Oh yeah, Zelda has a special place in my heart, but tunic just did such an amazing job revealing just enough to keep you hunting for the next step.
If you haven’t loom up some of the speed runs for Tunic. A lot of the game can be skipped simply by knowing what you already need to do, a bit like Outer Wilds.
