141·3 months agoStill hard to believe this all happened less than 100 years ago.
Looking at the world today, I don’t find it that hard to believe. Antisemitism being more casual and popular than ever in my lifetime.
I wonder what they talk about when no one is around

Python@programming.dev•Announcing iceoryx2 v0.7: Fast and Robust Inter-Process Communication (IPC) Library for Rust, Python, C++, and CEnglish
2·5 months agoFrom the top of my head: Replication, sharding and failovers, access control, security in general.
None of these are dealbreakers, all of them have workarounds, and redis has proven to scale. It just requires a lot of work and maintenance to do right. So I’m always happy to evaluate alternatives :)

I like memcached and redis as much as the next person, but they do show their age.
I’ve been playing with nats.io instead, but haven’t comitted yet. Will add the linked project to my list of alternatives to consider!

21·7 months agoI get where you’re coming from. There’s certainly a “I know best and should never reconsider my views” anti-sympathic thinking to be found here, mostly of the communist variety. But I wouldn’t say it’s more than elsewhere.
In any case, the technology is wonderfull. Start your own instance, be the change you want to see in the world.
Try to find a flower today, appreciate how beautifull it is.
