I think it is probably a lot more efficient for Russia to get their men killed one at a time on motorcycles than five at a time in tanks. Assuming, of course, that their goal is to get as many Russians killed as inexpensively as possible, which all of their decisions to date seems to support.

You can do that with a self propelled gun or a thousand other things. The entire concept of a tank is increased crew survivability and therefore flexibility in deployment.

A tank that doesn’t protect its crew is just a self propelled gun, and you would use it differently than you use a tank.
