You should modify that to “belongs to a backwards branch of a religion”
Christians in my country are mostly LBQT-friendly. (These are not the fundamentalisic US kind of christians though).
Muslims on the other hand… some serious fraction are homophobes…
I agree on the points you mentioned.
Increasing size is also a problem, though.
E.g have the rules to build parking spaces been changed here in Germany recently to accommodate the bigger cars.
This additional space (we are talking about additional 30cm width for a road with parking on both sides) will not only further clutter our cities, but will also not be available for bike lanes and sidewalks.
And yes, seeing my elementary school kid walking between SUVs and Pickups (we now also have a few of those here…) to cross the street, is also horrifying to watch…
Overshoes are great, also to keep the shoes clean!
But at some point during heavy rain, water starts leaking along the legs to the inside of the overshoes.
I always carry a pair of fresh socks with me because of that.
l second the socks, I always have one readily available in my bike bag.
And since one particular thunderstorm a few years bag: also a fresh pair of underpants. Though that might be overkill for most…

The bright side:
At least it is november, so you can have fun with the other ghosts!
Just look out for those leaves.
When wet they can be as slippery as ice.
Also interesting how it is higher than in the western German part, despite the lower relative female population in the eastern part.
