I don’t think we’ll be lacking for joycon designs. Though my desire to buy any for the asking price is super low.
I’ve been using my launch switch 1 controller with my switch 2. I’ve missed the convenience of remote system wake-up, just not enough to spring for a new controller. Will probably grab the Zelda one if it turns out to be legit. The collector in me really wants the console, but that’s a cost I can’t justify. Would be a slam dunk if I didn’t already have a SW2 though.
That was my experience too. Just a slog. AW wasn’t really designed for PvP imo. Attempts at “balancing” just make it less fun. Days of Ruin really drove that home for me… not surprised the series died out after that. And nothing else has really scratched that itch since. Wargroove came close, but the design leaned towards multiplayer from the start. Balance patches etc. And the dev response towards complaints about poor enemy AI was always “play a human.” Which… turned into a slog.
The Heroes of Hyrule series is designed at a 6-inch scale, meaning Link and Zelda measure 6 inches tall and Ganondorf clocks in at 7.5 inches tall.
Not sure how to feel about this. “6 inch scale” is already kind of nebulous, with figures from Hasbro’s own lines regularly clocking in at noticeably over 6". Even in their own world Link and Zelda are short, so having them be the “standard” height feels weird. Ganondorf being a huge beast checks out though.
For the price I would expect more than a lone alternate hand, but I guess that’s the Nintendo tax working its magic.
So there must have been different bundles because my Wii U Mario Kart bundle came with a physical copy of the game and a special red Mario controller + plastic wheel.
There’s been a LOT of bundles. Either way, we both learned something today. I’d call that a win.
People really really latched onto the key card narrative despite it all being 3rd party publishers making use of it. The lone exception as far as I know is Pokopia, which as a Pokémon title comes with all the usual fucky bullshit that comes along with TPC and GameFreaks… but it was published in the west by Nintendo themselves.
It may be the only one, but people have convinced themselves that it’s everything and no amount of facts will sway them otherwise.

Not true. If anything I’m trying to remember the last one that came with the physical game. The MK8 Wii U bundle was digital. As were the ALBW 3DS bundles. There’s probably a few though, between the 2/3DS and Switch there have been quite a few collectors’ editions. Some with game, some without.
MSoft and Sony would adopt the latest (most expensive) usb version for the transfer speed.
Nintendo opted for SD Express (a spec that has existed for years) in the Switch 2 and people pitched a fit over the “proprietary” format.
I played the fan translation for BB a few times, and started on NM before being annoyed at being tied to my PC to play. Have yet to try either of the SNES games… and I may sound like a filthy casual but I think I’d prefer a remake with modern QoL. I’ve picked up enough through osmosis that I’m not sure I would have the patience for playing the originals lol.
I hope there’s at least $10 more game than Doom Eternal to justify it.
Yep. I don’t follow Pokémon so I had to double check. There’s usually some weaselly stuff going on with Pokémon as it’s technically The Pokémon Company and Gamefreaks doing the heavy lifting… but Nintendo did indeed publish Pokopia outside of Japan. No weaseling out of this one.
I played the shit out of Engage lol. And went back and played Echoes after that. (Fell into the Heroes gacha trap before Echoes came out and that soured me on FE for a good long while.) Won’t feel right to play FW without having the 3H base to build off of.
Hoping for western access to New Mystery, Genealogy, Tharacia, and Binding Blade before too much longer. I’ll take ports or a remake.
I’m pretty sure Nintendo hasn’t published a single key card game.
I’ll eventually get around to playing 3H so I can be caught up… but I bounced off the monastery stuff so hard it’s really difficult to get motivated.
I got super into Onimusha 1 and 3 back in the day (I played 2 but it was pretty meh). I could be talking out of my ass but this one looks like the battle system is Souls-inspired? Kinda feeling lukewarm on it.
Storied and Be Smart are PBS channels as well.
I mean… 64 is the best game out of the series. Would have preferred a new game to a remake though.

Agreed that Calamity is the better Warriors game, mechanically. But Imprisonment constantly had me geeking out over the deeper look at TotK’s flashback events. Would I have liked more meat? Yes. Do I regret playing it? Nope.
The fact that it dropped right in the middle of diaper don’s first tariff tantrum pushed me over the edge to buying one at launch. I didn’t see it getting cheaper any time soon. And while I agree that the current slate of games is pretty anemic, I have a ton of SW1 games, and most of them run better on SW2. I’m satisfied with my purchase.
Well Nintendo/Best Buy/Target/GameStop put up orders sometime in the past few hours… and they’re gone. Was hoping to grab a controller but I’m not playing this game.
