That’s very cool. They grew the NbSe2 between a graphene monolayer and SiO2 to prevent degradation. I’m looking forward to reading the actual paper when I have more time and access to see what precursor they used to work well in that small space and how they enabled growth in that 1nm gap.

I slightly wonder how hard it is to find individuals who have not contracted COVID even once. I think all the people I know got it at one point or another.
