Hopefully they can do something good, I also have a lot of hope for South Africa, but big things are probably not going to happen in my lifetime

They have 40 million users though, they focused on UX first, and will now hopefully not be dicks and actually become decentralized

261·2 months agoI think we should just hide all of that complexity and just set defaults for everything that the user can decide to change if they want. You don’t have to understand how the Fediverse works to be able to use it. Most people don’t understand how email works, they just use it.
BlueSky has 40+ million users, and it’s also technically decentralized like the Fediverse.
aka. you can use the eurosky.social or bluesky.social server etc.

If you have a brand new account you often can’t post in most subs or will get flagged for

You can communicate a LOT more info in a short time-span with a image.
Do you NEVER watch movies because books exist?

People scoffing at those still using other platforms, thinking they’re better than them etc.

I still find reddit enjoyable. I use both reddit and PieFed. PieFed lacks niche communities, for that I go to reddit.
Also reddit’s UX is still a lot smoother, I hope PieFed gets there but I’m not going to kid myself and say it’s as good as Reddit just yet.










Yea I’d like to see a graph of refineries hit in the last 12 months
