The “Great” figures of history weren’t great in a colloquial sense. They were considered “great” because they had a large impact on the world, not because they were well loved. So describing Trump as an accidental great man of history is not a compliment, it’s merely descriptive of the huge global impact he is having destroying US hegemony.
