Modern Russian and American tactics mirror each other in making up a “movement” out of disorganized thing they don’t like (e.g. Antifa, there - LGBT), promoting it into an international extremist org, and then hammering everyone for being a part of said org. This process signifies a switch from a policy “you do you but don’t tell anyone” into “don’t do that at all”. Just one step from criminalizing non-visible individuals for just being queer in a closet.
I haven’t heard of anarchist becoming an org like that, but satanist became it, and childfree was at least talked about in the same vein.

I’m just saying that this has been a standard tactic of authoritarian regimes since forever.
With a shade of neoliberalism tho, they dance around calling the family a union of a man and a woman, and then pronouncing gay people proponent of western gay agenda instead of, like, just outlawing being gay. Indirectly they step towards the same goal, but this approach is nothing to sleep on. In small incremental changes like these the same monster can crawl into any backyard, even the most soc-democratic one.
