I’ve always been curious, what’s it taste like??? I have seen it in the woods many years ago before I knew it was edible. Haven’t seen it since unfortunately.
I havet eaten it once. The consistency resemble that of chicken but it had a bland taste. I was so happy that I found it after years of searching, but it didn’t live up to the hype. Plus it gave me a stomachache. I’d give it a 3/10.

Deep fried in beer batter with a squeeze of lemon on top tastes like very overcooked/dry fried chicken
