In my country, for creating a new account on Facebook, it would first make a mobile verification and then record your face using your camera. Is it the same at your place ?

This is a big discussion. Facebook mainly does it because some law says it or to stop kids from getting in. People say this is bullshit and that Facebook does it to sell our data.
The answer for me at least is do not sing up.

Edit: Facebook was fined once again from the European Union https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/apr/29/meta-found-in-breach-of-eu-law-for-failing-to-keep-children-off-platforms

That doesn’t answer my question. I don’t go by news reports, rather by my common sense. Is it fair to track your device and scan your face for using social media ??
